The Association of Negativity

It’s a known fact in these modern times — that rudeness, disrespect, perversion, and general negativity is admired by many people. Why is it that people like Perez Hilton, Wendy Williams, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and many others often are not punished because of some of the outrageous things they say or do?

Yet Don Imus, Mel Gibson, actor Isaiah Washington, and others are punished by suffering in their careers, reputations, and financially for making outrageous comments. The answer is, the way a person comes across when they fist start out in their career. If you come across as moral, friendly, seldom rude, not very controversial, and decent then people will try to hold you to those standards.

If start out your entertainment, athletic, political, television, radio, etc career as controversial, rude, saying outrageous things, negative, and disrespectful then people will label you as controversial and give you a pass and allow you to continue. Because this is the side of your personality that you showed them first.

Your career is built around your controversial behavior, and money is made off of it. But if you show a decent personality your career is built off of that, and money is made on it. If a person with a decent personality and moral character falters, and say or do something controversial then money is lost because of advertiser pulling their endorsement from you, and it can be hard to get the same amount of work in your field again. Also parents, admirers, and society feels you let them down.

Kobe Bryant was seen as this moral man, role model, and decent nice guy until he got caught up in a sex scandal in Cordillera, Colorado. A female employee at the hotel where Kobe was staying accused him of raping her. Kobe admitted to having sex with the young woman, but said it was consensual. He was married and therefore, guilty of adultery. No charges were brought against Kobe due to a lack of evidence, but because he admitted he was a married man, who had sex with a woman who was not his wife this hurt his popularity and reputation.

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton called black eyed peas member Will.i.am a “faggot” because Will.i.am asked Perez not to write about the group on his blog. Both Perez and Will.i.am are gay.

Actor Isaiah Washington played in “Grey’s anatomy” he called a fellow actor a faggot, he apologized later on. When the season ended his contract was not renewed. There is no doubt it was because he called a fellow cast member a faggot. So basically he was fired from the show.

So if you plan to be in the world of entertainment — remember the type of personality you show first will be what people in general will expect of you most of the time.
